The One That Got Away

“Why doesn’t she just leave?” A question all too often asked about women who stay in abusive relationships.

Interval House, Canada’s first centre for abused women, tasked us with creating an ad that would change the way people think about domestic violence.

Rather than make the typical spot about how domestic violence affects women's safety or family dynamics, we wanted to dive a little deeper to help people understand what they have to live with on an emotional level. Only this time, it’s from the abuser’s perspective.
